*BOOK REVIEW & BOOK TOUR* People We Meet On Vacation

Hey y’all! Welcome, welcome. I am so glad you’re here!

Do you ever read a book that takes your breath away while simultaneously making you feel all the feelings you could ever feel? Books that are on the best I’ve ever read have left me speechless while punching me in the gut. That list is a list I don’t update frequently, but the first book Emily Henry wrote, Beach Read, swiftly moved to that list. When Berkeley reached out to me to not only read her next book, People We Meet On Vacation, early and do the blog tour- it was impossible to say no. This books is draped itself on so many most anticipated read lists and it’s well deserved! Without further ado, let’s get right into it!

First things first, LOOK AT HOW CUTE THE COVER IS!!

I MEAN SERIOUSLY!! This is so cute!!

But, Brittany- what is this about? Well, here’s the blurb for you! Then I’ll tell you all my thoughts and feelings about this one, because OH BOY! Do I have a lot!

Two best friends. Ten summer trips. One last chance to fall in love.

From the New York Times bestselling author of Beach Read, a sparkling new novel that will leave you with the warm, hazy afterglow usually reserved for the best vacations.

Poppy and Alex. Alex and Poppy. They have nothing in common. She’s a wild child; he wears khakis. She has insatiable wanderlust; he prefers to stay home with a book. And somehow, ever since a fateful car share home from college many years ago, they are the very best of friends. For most of the year they live far apart—she’s in New York City, and he’s in their small hometown—but every summer, for a decade, they have taken one glorious week of vacation together.

Until two years ago, when they ruined everything. They haven’t spoken since.

Poppy has everything she should want, but she’s stuck in a rut. When someone asks when she was last truly happy, she knows, without a doubt, it was on that ill-fated, final trip with Alex. And so, she decides to convince her best friend to take one more vacation together—lay everything on the table, make it all right. Miraculously, he agrees.

Now she has a week to fix everything. If only she can get around the one big truth that has always stood quietly in the middle of their seemingly perfect relationship. What could possibly go wrong?

How could you NOT want to read this? If you love romance, you will absolutely fall in love with Alex and Poppy. Henry has a way of dazzling you with her prose and leaving you salivating for more! Her writing is superb and really gives you every single emotion in a single book, hell a single page! There were so many times I went from laughing to smiling to crying to having my heart burst from love.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkeley Publishing for the ARC of this book. All thoughts are my own.

Going into this I did everything I could not to have expectations. I absolutely adored Beach Read and have been anticipating this book since I heard about it. There will be a much more in depth post that goes up on my blog on release day, but this lived up to and exceeded my love for Beach Read. I am such a sucker for friends to lovers and this perfectly fit the bill.

I totally understood everything Poppy was going through because I’ve felt in a rut with work (I’ve also always had a crush on a guy I’ve known and was friends with forever but that’s besides the point). Her need to find what makes her happy and get her best friend back was magical. Henry really picked you up and transported you into their lives like you were a fly on the wall. Her writing was absolutely magical. The flashbacks mixed into the current time made it so much more interesting and gave another layer to both Poppy and Alex. I’m usually not one to root for characters from page one, but they seemed so great and it was all I wanted.

From the beginning, Henry pulls you in with stories from the past and smacks you into present wondering where Alex is and why Poppy isn’t talking to him. I’m not sure how to describe how much I absolutely LOVED Poppy and Alex. Holy moly. I’m not sure I could find words to tell you what I felt reading this. All I can say is that I finished it and immediately wanted to restart it. I mean, I mayhaps have wanted to live vicariously through Poppy, but a girl can dream right? This book was a true dream and will leave you wanting more and more.

This was such a page turner! I couldn’t put it down. It was everything and so much more. It was fun. It was funny. It was romantic. It was sweet. It gave me so many feels that even hours later I’m still thinking about that ending! If you loved Beach Read- you will absolutely not want to miss this! It’s a must read and easily slid right onto my best books I’ve ever read shelf! From one Cincinnati girl to another- Emily, this was INCREDIBLE! Bravo.
